Abstract
This paper continues to analyze the text of the Han bamboo manuscript Book of Zhao Zheng from the perspective of using the Qin dynasty as a metaphor for the Han dynasty. By integrating relevant information from the Records of the Grand Historian and the inscription on the Stele of Qi Bozhu, this paper reveals that the "Gao" mentioned in Book of Zhao Zheng actually alludes to Qi Sai, the first Marquis of Linyuan in the Western Han dynasty, and further confirms that Qi Sai was the brother of Lady Qi, the consort of Emperor Gaozu of Han. After Emperor Gaozu resolved to replace the crown prince with the son of Lady Qi, Qi Sai was promoted to positions of power and thus came to be seen as a figure akin to Zhao Gao of the Qin dynasty. This discovery provides new evidence supporting the hypothesis of allusion in Book of Zhao Zheng.
