Abstract
In the preceding chapters, we used the scattering of electromagnetic waves by an infinite cylinder as our model, thereby reducing the three-dimensional Maxwell system to a two-dimensional scalar equation. In this last chapter, we want to briefly indicate the modifications needed to treat three-dimensional electromagnetic scattering problems. In view of the introductory nature of our book, our presentation will be brief, and for details we will refer the reader to Chap. 14 of [129] and the monograph [26].
