Abstract

Key Points: Lichen planus (LP) is a papulosquamous skin disorder characterized by the '6 Ps': pruritus, polygonal shape, planar, purple color, papules, and plaques. The diagnosis is clinical and depends on recognition of the sites and types of lesions. Treatment aims to relieve itching, improve appearance, and the follow-up of oral lesions until possible spontaneous resolution. Most cases resolve spontaneously with no need for follow-up.
