Abstract
In the present chapter, we present models involving branching processesbranching processmultitype with many types of particles. Multitype models were sporadically employed in previous chapters. Here we offer a systematic treatment of asymptotic properties of the multitype Galton–Watson process in the supercritical case. However, we start with a motivating application, involving several multitype approaches to the fluctuation experiment analysis, which is one of the oldest but still useful tests of mutagenesis. Other applications follow.
