Abstract

Outreach Gamification

This recipe will explain how to create a version of the game Memory (also known as Concentration) to teach people about your special collections or archival collections in a fun, interactive manner. This game has been used with middle school, high school, and college students to teach them about our unique collections, where the archives are located, and our institution’s history. It is a low or no-cost way to create a unique outreach activity and engage with a younger audience about the importance of special collections and archives. This project needs to be made only once and can then be used repeatedly.
