Abstract

Assessment first-year students library instruction methodology research design
The need to assess library instruction is becoming increasingly important. Librarians must know how to devise effective and methodologically sound research designs that adequately measure whether learning takes place within library classes. The authors outline an assessment program created for first-year students and suggest strategies for others who wish to create a similar assessment program in a timely, cost effective manner.
