Abstract
Purpose - This paper seeks to see how libraries measure up to futurists' predictions of libraries of the future.Design methodology approach - Compares the ten points in futurist Thomas Frey's paper, "The future of libraries" with the reality of current library services.Findings - By and large, much of what Frey predicts for future libraries is already a reality.Originality value - Confirms that librarians and libraries are at the forefront of technology and providing information through different media and methods.
