Abstract
Martin Blaser is the director of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Addison B. Scoville Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He is also a professor of microbiology and immunology. A major portion of his career has been devoted to the study of bacterial pathogens of the gastrointestinal tract, especially the epidemiology and pathogenesis of the diseases they cause.
