Abstract

Macroeconomic policy exchange rate devaluation Indonesia
This paper offers a comprehensive discussion of policy evolution in Indonesia since 1970, and it highlights recent developments in Indonesian political economy. While growing rapidly, the literature has surprisingly consolidated, chronological accounts of lndonesian policy reforms across sectors from 1970 to the early 1990s. Also, no existing study surveys the major themes which have emerged in the excellent political economy research done in the last five years. This article fills both gaps and improves our understanding of political processes in Indonesia's economic transformation. My objective is to examine the progression of Indonesia's market liberalization and the involvement of interest groups in the operational scheme.
